Meet Attorney Matt Lawson

From Vegas to Houston to a proud adopted Hoosier

Matt Lawson grew up in Las Vegas — and if you ask him, he’ll tell you he got a little bored of it. A move to Houston came next, but it was Indiana that finally stuck. Today he’s a proud adopted Hoosier who has built his life, his family, and his law practice in Northwest Indiana.

He earned his law degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law, where he was elected student body president. Along the way he wasn’t afraid to see the legal system from every angle — he spent time defending insurance companies and even did a brief stint as a lobbyist during law school. Those experiences taught him exactly how the other side thinks, and he puts that insight to work for his clients every day.

After graduating in 2018, Matt set out to build the kind of firm he always wanted to see — one where clients talk directly to their attorney, get honest answers, and never feel like a case number. He is federally licensed and represents people in some of the highest-stakes moments of their lives: federal and state criminal charges, personal injury claims across Indiana, and immigration matters.

Outside the office, Matt is first and foremost a dad. He’s the proud father of two kids and spends his free time building Legos, adding to his Pokémon card collection, and just being present for his family. That perspective is exactly why he understands how much is riding on every case he takes — because he knows what it means to protect the people you love.
